Conceptual calendar for 2019... or 2049? Inspired by 'Blade Runner 2049' feel.

The photographs I took when living in Hong Kong. They're not always direct, sometimes distorted, just like our imagination and vision of the future is. Each month defined by something very subjective, something I had a pleasure to experience with my senses in this unique asian country.

------- 2019 to 2049

January: is the coldest month of the year. But in Hong Kong you don't really experience the real freeze. January is the first month, it sets the background for the rest of the year. On its construct all of the 11 months lean. And one thing is sure - Hong Kong's construction is very solid.

February: is when the Chinese New Year takes place. Imagine all Hong Kong illuminating and dancing piruettes all around you.

Getting lost in the whirl of lights. Neons or fireworks? Doesn't matter. You're there in the middle, and the moment is yours.

March: is when it is best to experience the magic of the Night Market in Mong Kok. The least amount of tourists, the biggest amount of good food to be eaten literally on the street. It is here where it's the best way to engage all of the senses in tasting Hong Kong - you can indeed eat the sounds of the busy city, eat its temperature, the heat and the steam coming from all over the place, its dirty yet luminescent neons. The food is definitely not the only thing to devour while on Night Market - it is the essence of all Hong Kong altogether in one pla(c=t)e. And it's delicious.

April: is when you get to dive into the deep sea and smell the saltiness of the waves bouncing you dangerously on the small boat driven by a guy who seems not to care. No one actually seems to be caring about anything other than catching the sparkling wind in their faces. And that inspires you to do the same. Closing your eyes and just enjoying the fishing process you have never experienced before. April is when the season of fishing loses its virginity. It's fresh. And it's salty, just like the fried mullet on your plate.

M for May & for Macao : okay, so we're already in Hong Kong, tasting all of its beauty. May is actually the cheapest month for the transport fares. So why not go to one of the Hong Kong's treasures and see how Portugese vibes meet Asia? Why not spend all of the saved money from the flight tickets in the Lisboa Casino, trying your luck in roulette and then leaving its fake luminescence feeling gloriously, and get delightfully surprised the outside world is in its gold hour. Just standing under the streams of sun enlightening gentle palm leaves bouncing with the rythm of nature, right against the landscape of the luxurious skyscrapers.

Macao. City of the contrasts. Portugal - China. Nature - money. Money that you have spent in the best way you could, thanks to the fifht month of the year.

June: keen on photography? The longest day occurs on 21st of June in Hong Kong. And it is an occasion, since days in Hong Kong are actually pretty short.

The sun there gets tired very quickly from serving the intense heat day by day, with no rest. Make sure you have your camera's batteries charged cause you're gonna devote all day to catching Hong Kong's miracles. What are those? The things considered normal, but here, well... They're totally different. And that's the secret to making this city so wonderful. You don't have to look for miracles. They chase you on every step.

July: hot hot sooo hot! I need to get down to Sai Kung beach. I need to hike for hours to find myself at the most beautiful seaside of Hong Kong, where after catching clear and restless yet caring waves of the South China Sea, I get to taste the best Singaporean fried noodles in HK, cooling my tired yet satisfied body with the famous Tsing Tao beer drunk straight from the can. The metal edges of the can touching my lips anchor themselves to my memory of June, linking it all with the sunny, sweaty Sai Kung experience.

August: the beauty of gathering together for a barbecue on the street, at night. Only at night the sun's heat lets you create your own fire. You need to live according to the nature's rythm. And that is how the beauty happens by itself. No need to push it. Just let go and feel into the Hong Kong's music. Go out to your neighbours after 7 pm and make sure your belly's ready for all the delicious companion.

September: is the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, where all the magic happens during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Enchanting lantern exhibits, delectable mooncakes, and captivating dragon performances. Let's burn the dragon together and get lost in the labyrinth of lights!

October: the temperature finally starts to slow down, so we've got the good news - you can finally start drinking hot tea instead of the one on rocks. Just get on metro, exit in Wan Chai and get your ass on Johston Road - Ki Chan Tea Co. is waiting! Its leaf-shaped neon creates a Hongkong landscape, so it's a must visit point. Enjoyable during the night hours as well as in daylight - it's just beautiful anytime.

November: with the usually pleasantly warm weather with a gentle breeze, November takes the top spot in the most enjoyable months. So get on the boat and take the trip from Honkong Island to Mainland (or the other way round) to experience the clearest view of the Hongkong nightscape. Let the geometric illuminations of Bank of China skyscraper put you in the futuristic, Blade Runner's mood accompanied by the sound of waves and Cantonese chatter in the background. You couldn't go more sci-fi.

December: when the season was good, you'll find fresh sugar cane stalks in the streets of Hongkong. The most popular (and very healthy) drink that makes a history thanks to Kung Lee - a sugar cane fresh juice bar located in Central, amidst the graffiti murals, art galleries and cocktail bars of Hollywood Road. Remember - you haven't been to Hongkong if you haven't tried this most special drink. And most certainly - the one from Kung Lee.
